How to Maintain a Corrugated Board Production Line?

A corrugated board production line is crucial equipment for producing corrugated cardboard. To ensure long-term stable operation, daily maintenance is essential. This article focuses on the following machine maintenance areas:

Cleaning Key Components to Prevent Paper Jams

During production on a corrugated board production line, the conveyor belts and rollers that transport paperboard are easily contaminated with paper scraps and dust. Failure to clean them promptly can lead to problems with paper conveying and even paper jams. At the end of each day, wipe these components with a soft cloth to remove debris and use compressed air to blow away any paper scraps trapped in the gaps. This will reduce paper jams and ensure proper operation.

Lubricate Rotating Parts to Reduce Wear

A corrugated board production line has many rotating parts, such as the bearings of the corrugating rollers and the shaft ends of the conveyor rollers. These parts can easily wear out due to friction. Regularly applying specialized lubricants to these parts will ensure smoother rotation and extend the life of the components. Be careful not to use the wrong lubricant, as this may affect machine operation.

Check the glue system to prevent blockages

If the glue used to bond cardboard is left for a long time, it will solidify and clog the glue pipes and nozzles. After each shutdown, it is best to flush the glue tank and pipes with clean water to remove any remaining glue. Also, check the glue supply and nozzles to ensure that there is sufficient glue and no blockages to ensure even glue application the next time the machine is restarted.

Pay attention to the heating system and ensure stable temperatures

Corrugated cardboard requires heating, so it is crucial that the heating rollers and heating plates maintain stable temperatures. Regularly check the heating system on the corrugated board production line for loose wiring and oil stains (oil stains can affect heating efficiency). If you notice temperature fluctuations, contact maintenance personnel immediately to adjust the temperature to prevent temperature issues from causing poor bonding.
