Part 1: What are the basic carton machinery in a carton factory?
Usually It is Equipped with a Stacking Machine




Print, slot, or die cut 3/5/7 layers corrugated cardboard with thickness of 1.5-12mm to form the outline of the carton box.
According to the working speed and price of the machine, it can be divided into(based on small printing roller):
High speed machine(300-350 sheets/minute);
Medium speed machine(250-300 sheets/);
Low speed machine (100-150 sheets/minute);
Chain feeding machine (60-90 sheets/minute)
According to the fineness of printing, the printing department can be divided into three configurations:
Ceramic anilox roller + doctor blade: suitable for printing high-resolution pictures, such as pictures with QR codes;
Ceramic anilox roller + rubber ink roller: suitable for printing colorful and high-saturation pictures, such as pictures with flowers and portraits;
Metal anilox roller + rubber ink roller: suitable for printing simple patterns with low precision requirements and large area color filling, such as the pattern style of solid color background with simple text description on some ordinary daily necessities packaging cartons.
When in use, stacking machine needs to be placed behind the printing slotting die cutting machine to collect and stack the processed cardboard for easy transportation by workers.
There are two types of stacking machines, one is a gantry stacking machine for processing large cartons, and the other is small stacking machine suitable for collecting small cartons.

Carton stitching machine:Use metal nails to nail the cardboard then form it into a carton. The nail distance and nails distance can be adjusted as needed to meet the requirements of different carton specifications and strength.
It is divided into fully automatic and semi-automatic types. The fully automatic type has a higher production speed and can efficiently complete a large number of carton nailing work.
Carton gluing machine:Working principle is the same as stitching machine, except that it uses glue to bond cardboard. Also divided into semi-automatic type and fully automatic type.
According to the type of carton, it can be divided into general carton gluer and pressure type carton gluer. General carton gluer is mainly suitable for home appliances, express delivery outer box packaging, mainly for corrugated paper packaging.
In addition to corrugated paper boxes, pressure type carton gluer is also suitable for paper boxes other than corrugated paperboard, such as small paper boxes, color paper boxes, special-shaped color boxes, look-bottom paper boxes, etc., with a wider range of applications.
Strap the Stitched or Glued Cartons




The strapping machine is used to strap the stitched or glued folded cartons, and bundle them into piles for workers to carry and transport.
According to the different strapping materials, it can be divided into PP strapping machine and PE strapping machine.
They are also divided into fully automatic and semi-automatic types. The fully automatic strapping machine can be used in line with the fully automatic folder gluer stitching machine.
Cut Cardboard In Appropriate Size




Thin blade slitter scorer machine is used to cut and crease cardboard. When the cardboard is too large, slitter scorer is needed to adjust the size of it.
According to the different paper feeding methods, it can be divided into manual paper feeding, belt paper feeding, and front edge paper feeding.
According to the degree of automation, it can be divided into semi-automatic, fully automatic, and full servo types.

Part 2: Diverse carton machinery solutions
Automatic Printer Slotter Die Cutter + Automatic Folder Gluer Stitching Machine + Automatic Strapping Machine



The reason why we chose it as the first solution is that it is the most popular and widely used among our customers.
Workflow:
The corrugated cardboard is fed into the automatic printing slotting die cutting machine, and after processing, it is stacked by the stacking machine.
Then the workers put the stacked cardboard into the automatic folder gluer stitching machine to process it into cartons.
Since the automatic folder gluer stitching machine and automatic strapping machine can work together as a linkage line, the processed cardboard will go directly into strapping machine, and the worker only needs to collect it at the strapping machine output.
Compared with Solution two, its cost is relatively low, and it is more suitable for the small and medium-sized carton factories.

Flexo Folder Gluer Line with Auto Strapping Machine



The workflow of this solution is similar to Solution one, but the difference is that all machines work together as a whole production line.
This is the solution with the highest automation degree. The entire production line only requires about 3 workers to operate normally.
If need to increase the automation degree and work efficiency, you can also add a fully automatic paper feeder in front of the automatic printing machine (solution one can also be added).
However, the cost will be higher than solution one. But if you pay more attention to labor costs and work efficiency, this option is a better choice.
All Semi Automatic Machines



This solution is suitable for carton factory customers who are just starting out and have limited budget.
All machines are semi-automatic, work efficiency depends largely on the proficiency of workers, but it is more economical in price, simpler to operate, and less demanding on workers.
Labor Required:
Chain feeding printer slotter die cutter: 2 workers
Semi automatic folder gluer/stitching machine: 2 workers
Semi-auto strapping machine: 1-2 workers
Semi-auto thin blade slitter scorer machine: 2 workers

Each machine has a size limit, which means that one machine cannot make cartons of all sizes,it is customized according to your needs for cartons.
