Automatic folder gluer machine is an indispensable equipment for carton factory. Then some problems often occur when gluing cartons. Let's see how to solve them.
1. Low bonding strength, carton degumming
Degumming refers to the cracking of the glue mouth due to insufficient bonding strength. The main reasons are summarized as follows:
(1) The viscosity of the adhesive is not enough or the amount of glue is not enough,
(2) The adhesive does not match the carton material
(3) After lamination, polishing and other surface treatments, it is difficult for the adhesive to penetrate the surface layer into the paper,
(4) After folding and gluing, the pressure is not enough, and the pressure time is not long enough, which is not conducive to firm bonding.
For the above problems caused by adhesives, we should choose adhesives suitable for carton materials.
First, we should not mistakenly think that the higher the viscosity of the adhesive, the better the box gluing effect. When the viscosity is high, the strength of the adhesive is high and the wrinkling rate will also increase.
Second, the bonding strength is strong. Because the instantaneous pressure of the forming part of the automatic folder gluer machine is not very high, during the high-speed operation of producing 30-40 boxes per minute, the pressure time is not long, and the adhesive with strong adhesion can firmly bond the carton even if it is pressed lightly.
In addition, the ambient temperature of the gluing workshop will also have a certain impact on the adhesive. If the temperature of the gluing workshop is too low, the adhesive will solidify immediately, affecting the bonding firmness. Of course, the less the amount of glue applied, the more sensitive it is to room temperature, so in winter, the temperature of the gluing workshop should be kept above 20℃, and if possible, air conditioning can be installed for adjustment.
In the gluing workshop, a large and easily visible temperature should be installed to check and control the working environment at any time. For sticky products, they should be dried at room temperature before leaving the factory. Don't rush to deliver before drying in winter.
2. For coated and polished cartons, there are four ways to solve the problem of poor adhesion
(1) The edge sealing device on the automatic folder gluer machine grinds the surface of the glue port to facilitate the penetration of the adhesive.
(2) Spray hot melt adhesive onto the glued parts and melt the material on the glue surface at high temperature to improve the strength of the glue box.
(3) In the design of pre-press paper boxes, the edges of the paper boxes can be coated and polished in advance to leave the glued part.
(4) For the phenomenon that the glued box is not firm due to insufficient pressure, increase the pressure of the laminating part of the glue coating machine, extend the laminating time, or replace the adhesive with stronger adhesion.
