In the gluing process of carton production, the selection and proper use of glue directly affect the operating efficiency, bonding strength, and product qualification rate of the Semi Automatic Folder Gluer Machine. Mastering scientific glue selection and application techniques is crucial for improving gluing stability.
Glue selection must accurately match the characteristics of the cardboard and the application scenario. For the bonding needs of corrugated cardboard boxes, water-based white glue and fast-drying water-based glue are the mainstream choices: the former has moderate initial tack and high bonding strength, suitable for the conventional bonding of three-layer and five-layer corrugated cardboard, and is environmentally friendly and odorless, meeting the environmental requirements of food packaging and other scenarios; the latter has a fast curing speed, adapting to the rapid turnaround requirements of mass production, and effectively reducing the waiting time for cardboard pressing. It is necessary to avoid using inferior glues with excessive viscosity or insufficient solids content. Low-solids glue is prone to glue seepage and weak bonding, while high-viscosity glue increases the difficulty of gluing, causing uneven gluing and machine jamming.

Scientific use of adhesives requires "controlling viscosity, dosage, and environment." Adhesive viscosity needs to be dynamically adjusted according to the humidity and temperature of the cardboard. Under normal conditions, it should be controlled between 15,000-25,000 mPa·s. In high humidity, the viscosity can be appropriately increased to avoid excessive adhesive penetration. The amount of adhesive applied must be strictly controlled. By adjusting the gap of the applicator rollers in the Semi Automatic Folder Glue Machine, ensure that the adhesive evenly covers the bonding surface, without any missed areas or overflow. At the same time, the adhesive should be prepared and used immediately to avoid separation and sedimentation due to prolonged storage. It must be thoroughly stirred before use. If necessary, a special thinner can be added to adjust the viscosity. Adding water arbitrarily is strictly prohibited, as it may damage the adhesive components.
Environmental factors have a significant impact on the adhesive bonding effect. The workshop temperature should be maintained between 18-28℃, and the humidity controlled between 45%-65%. Too low a temperature will slow down the adhesive curing speed and prolong the pressing time; too high a humidity will reduce the adhesive drying efficiency and increase the risk of delamination. In addition, the glued cartons need to be fully pressed and shaped. By adjusting the pressure of the pressing rollers of the Semi Automatic Folder Gluer Machine, it is ensured that the glued surfaces are tightly adhered. The pressing time is recommended to be no less than 3 minutes to avoid misalignment or delamination of the joints due to premature handling.
