First, let's clarify what the fingerless single facer machine is used for: it is designed to produce two-layer corrugated cardboard (bottom paper + corrugated paper). To produce three-layer, five-layer, or seven-layer cardboard, additional equipment such as glue spreaders and double facers is required. As one of the basic materials in the packaging industry, corrugated cardboard makes corrugated cardboard production machinery a crucial part of the packaging sector.

Different Types of the Fingerless Single Facer Machine

Classification by Flute Type

The single facer machine can be divided into four conventional types: Flute A, C, B, and E. If a smaller Flute F is required, customization is necessary. Additionally, if customers want to produce cardboard with combined flute types, such as Flute AB, Flute BE, or Flute ABE, they can purchase multiple single facers for production.

Classification by Corrugated Roller Material

The corrugated roller is the core component of the fingerless single facer machine and one of the primary factors determining its price. Two commonly used materials are 45# steel and alloy steel. Alloy steel is further divided into two types based on surface treatment processes: alloy galvanized and alloy tungsten carbide.

The most cost-effective option is 45# steel, although it is not as hard or durable as the other two. However, if the working speed of the customer's cardboard production line is not high, or if wear resistance of the corrugated roller is not a major concern, or if the budget is limited, this material is a suitable choice.

The alloy galvanized corrugated roller strikes a balance between durability and price, positioned between 45# steel and alloy tungsten carbide. This is the most commonly used type of corrugated roller, and it is typically the default choice when providing solutions for customers.

The final type, alloy tungsten carbide, is the highest-quality option. It has a service life that is 3 to 5 times longer than the other types, greatly reducing the frequency and cost of replacing corrugating rolls. During its service life, the flute shape remains virtually unchanged, ensuring that the corrugated cardboard maintains stable quality. This helps avoid issues such as excessive glue application and quality defects in cardboard, which can result from the wear of flute tips on lower-quality rolls.

Classification by Heating Method

The commonly used heating methods for the fingerless single facer machine can be divided into three types: steam heating, electric heating, and oil heating.

Both steam and oil heating require boiler equipment. Electric heating is more convenient but may be less cost-effective in regions where electricity costs are high. Customers can choose the appropriate equipment based on local raw material prices and energy costs.
